Darrell Mansfield is one of the major pioneers of the Jesus Movement of the ‘70’s that birthed contemporary
Christian music, Calvary Chapel, and many similar evangelistic
ministries and movements.
He was ordained April 8, 1988 by Pastor Chuck Smith and the board of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Mansfield
was brought on staff to run Asaph records and launch Calvary Chapel’s record label, Calvary Chapel Music
.

“The Jesus Movement
of the late ‘60’s and
‘70’s was the birthplace
of many influential Bible
teachers and
musical
evangelists, and I am still a
‘musicianary’ to this day. The Jesus movement is still moving, and I‘m
a wake-up call to those who were part of the Jesus Movement, and to those who have followed Jesus
since. Now more than ever, it is time to join together to reach the world for Jesus.” Darrell Mansfield

Mansfield responded to an invitation from aid
workers in Moldova and performed a Christmas concert for
orphans and handicapped children to raise funds and awareness for their needs. He
invited the children to
perform with him and sang a version of “Tears in Heaven.” The emotional concert was televised and aired
on national TV. Many handicapped children were not physically able to attend Mansfield’s concert, so he
visited the clinics to sing in person to those children. www.darrellmansfield.co for video footage.
